Lodge Misir was founded in 2009, receiving its charter as a lodge of the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis Misraim, on June 2nd of that year. The charter was issued and validated by Tau Allen Greenfield and the three co-founders of the lodge were Tau Libero, Tau Donaticus, and Tau Qadosh. Prior to the establishment of Misir, we were involved in the transmission of APRMM initiations in Serbia from several sources, but the pivotal work was done with the late Zoran Martinović from Niš, who among other things was also the 97th degree of APRMM, under his episcopal name of Tau Baltazar ben Iacobus. In choosing this name, he paid homage to his initiator and consecrator, Tau Iacobus, the late Bro Joel Duez, from France, with whom he collaborated extensively and who visited him several times here in Serbia, staying at his house.
From Zoran, we received the initiations with which Misir began. Then, Misir received its charter as the DIOMM Lodge - the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis Misraim - on June 2nd, 2009. The charter was issued and validated by Allen Greenfield, whom we believe needs no special introduction in this world. Misir was founded by three co-founders, namely Tau Libero, Tau Donaticus, and Tau Qadosh. Prior to the establishment of Misir, we were involved in the transmission of DIOMM initiations in Serbia from several sources, but the pivotal work was done with the late Zoran Martinović from Niš, who among other things was also the 97th degree of DIOMM, with his episcopal name being Tau Baltazar ben Iacobus. In his episcopal name, he paid homage to his initiator and consecrator, Tau Iacobus, also known as Joel Duez from France, with whom he collaborated extensively and who visited him several times here in Serbia, staying at his house. From Zoran, we received the initiations with which Misir began. Then, in the summer of 2010, Tau Allen Greenfield, from the USA, attended a major APRMM gathering in Prague, where intensive work was done for several days, including mutual episcopal consecrations with several European bishops.
In the autumn of that same year, on November 19th, we received from Allen the charter declaring Misir as a Sovereign Sanctuary of APRM+M with all the customary rights of an independent Sovereign Sanctuary. Up to that point we had been working with a small circle of initiates, focusing mainly, apart from occasional initiations, on preparing materials for the work - translating rituals, lessons, etc., as well as some original interpretations. Once we had the Charter, however, there began a significant opening to new candidates, who initially were mainly Master Masons from other orders. From that point onwards, Lodge Misir, in accordance with the principles of Congregational Illuminism, was not conceived of as a new Masonic order, but rather primarily as a spiritual academy for those seriously committed to inner work.
Today, there are three active lodges united and working under the Sovereign Sanctuary of Gnosis Lodge Misir; Lodge Pleroma in Serbia and Lodges Avalon and Valhalla in Spain.
